Testing of individual components of batteries, performing quality control tests
Testing of individual components of batteries, performing quality control tests weekly, evaluating field failures, writing various reports, and performing basic electronic repairs. Other responsibilities may involve: construction of test samples, performing a variety of different tests on specific batteries including life tests, explosion tests, short circuit tests, float tests, and capacity tests, the ordering laboratory supplies and small test equipment is also handled by the lab technician. As required, the Lab Technician possesses the authority to author and maintain documents, which are contained in the quality system. Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices. He or she is responsible for the quality of work produced. Regular attendance required. Ability to work overtime. 4-year degree (in engineering or other appropriate discipline): or equivalent combination of a 2-year degree (in engineering or other appropriate discipline) and related experience. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Literate (able to interpret test procedures, specifications, instruction manuals and computer screens), math skills (algebra, geometry, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), good problem solving skills, good communication and organization skills, able to lift up to 50 lbs.
