Overview

Engineering Administrative Intern supports the Engineering Leadership Team in administrative, data management, document control, and process improvement activities. This role provides hands-on experience in engineering operations, digital workflow optimization, SharePoint document management, and responsible use of AI tools to enhance productivity and reporting.

This position requires regular on-site presence

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering leadership with administrative coordination and operational tracking.
  • Assist with office relocation logistics, asset tracking, and inventory documentation.
  • Compile and maintain engineering performance metrics and dashboards using Excel or Smartsheet.
  • Track capital expenditures and engineering assets.
  • Organize, edit, and publish engineering procedures and work instructions within SharePoint.
  • Support document control processes including version tracking and structured file management.
  • Utilize AI productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT-type platforms) to improve documentation, summarize information, and streamline workflows.
  • Help improve cross-functional processes between Engineering and other departments.
  • Follow all company safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate’s degree completed or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (preferred 1st–2nd year completed) in Business, Engineering, Communications, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyze and manage data in Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering, basic charts).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or document management systems preferred.
  • Interest in AI-enabled productivity tools and digital workflow improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
