Responsibilities

  • Evaluate potential environmental impacts of proposed projects, including assessing compliance with relevant regulations and identifying environmental, sustainable solutions and strategies.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate environmental conditions and compliance with regulations.
  • Analyze data related to environmental samples such as air, water, and solid waste.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal environmental laws, permits, and standards.
  • Design systems for waste management and pollution control to minimize environmental impact.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Actively participates in various investigations to collect/analyze environmental data including air, water, waste, and soil samples.
  • Maintains various elements within East Penn’s Air Quality, Water Quality, Solid waste Programs.
  • Supports efforts in reducing/offsetting/eliminating carbon emission indicators throughout the corporation.
  • Assists in the implementation of programs that focus on improving the environment and EPM’s ISO 14000 Environmental Management System.
  • Tracks data and organizes that data into reports that are submitted to various environmental agencies in the state and federal regulatory community.
  • Collaborates/oversees environmental projects with various internal groups to ensure proper project management including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of contractors and stakeholders.
  • Provides additional administrative and technical support as required.

 

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications

 

    • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferred
    • New graduates capable of demonstrating a mastery of environmental fundamentals will be considered

  

Education/Certification

 

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with advanced study in an environmental field is preferred.
    • Equivalent levels of education, training and experience may be considered 

 

 

Skills & Competencies

 

 

    • Proficient understanding of environmental issues related to production facilities and manufacturing processes. 
    • General knowledge of environmental requirements for other areas such as air quality, water quality, and/or solid waste.
    • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing including presentation abilities.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze problems and formulate alternative/creative solutions to problems.
    • Adept in multi-tasking, prioritizing and managing time effectively.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; can effectively listen and give details accuratelExceptional interpersonal skills; a team player with a proven ability to work across functional areas and all levels of the organization.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), AutoCAD/3-D CAD design programs
    • Open to coaching with the ability to apply feedback.
    • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple priority projects concurrently. 

 

       Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Advanced study in an environmental field is preferred.
    • Equivalent levels of education, training and experience may be considered
    • Proven experience in environmental assessment and project management.
    • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
