Overview

East Penn is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Cost Accounting professional to join our dynamic team.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for overseeing, analyzing, and optimizing the cost structure of our manufacturing operations.

 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment and will possess exceptional analytical skills to drive cost efficiency and profitability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, purchasing, pricing, and finance, to gather data and provide insights that influence strategic decisions. Your expertise in supporting and maintaining accurate cost allocations will be crucial in ensuring our manufacturing processes are both profitable and sustainable.

 

This role will also involve mentoring cost accounting staff, contributing to process improvements, and implementing best practices in cost accounting. Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare and analyze cost reports and performance metrics for manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct regular audits of cost data to identify discrepancies and develop corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production and operations management to establish accurate cost models.
  • Support inventory evaluation and reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain cost models to forecast the impact of changes in production variables.
  • Provide training and mentorship to department staff on cost accounting practices.
  • Lead project teams related to product costs and cost systems

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, specifically within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of bill of materials, routings, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across various levels and departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with commitment to accuracy.
