East Penn currently has an opening for an Automotive Laboratory Technician who will test individual components of batteries.
Tests individual components of batteries
Performs quality control tests weekly
Evaluates battery failures
Documents results
Performs basic repairs
Constructs tests samples
Performs a variety of different tests on specific batteries including life tests, explosion tests, short circuit tests, float tests, and capacity tests
Is responsible and posseses the authority to author, approve, and maintain documents that are contained in the quality system
*Maintains regular attendance
*Ability to work mandatory over time
Performs other duties as requested
Responsible for producing a high quality product
Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices
*These tasks are considered essential elements of the job.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS, Technical School, Bachelor of Science Degree Preferred; READING REQUIREMENTS, Technical Reading, Able to read and understand lab procedures, Capable of reading and working with parts and equipment manuals; MATHEMATICAL SKILLS, Basic Math (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying), Basic understanding of Geometry, Basic understanding of Algebra; COMPUTER SKILLS, Understanding of control programs and databases, Good Computer Skills, Proficient in Word, Management System Reporting (MSR), E‑mail, Proficient in Excel; REASONING SKILLS, Recognizes irregularities and brings to the attention of supervisors; MECHANICAL SKILLS, Good understanding of mechanics, Basic Electrical skills; COMMUNICATION SKILLS, Able to write procedures and projects, Able to write technical reports, Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills; OTHER NECESSARY SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS, Battery Experience helpful, Production or quality control experience useful.
