East Penn is seeking a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for assisting with preparation of raw data into meaningful reports for upper management as well as providing analysis on monthly results.  The senior accountant will prepare several journal entries and account reconciliations in support of month-end closing activities.  This position will work in the administration building in Topton, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis
    • Assist with accumulating and preparing data to be used in financial reports throughout East Penn.
    • Prepares various account reconciliations as requested to be certain the general ledger is accurate, including inter-company reconciliations.
  • Project Management
    • Assist with the rollout of the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 software.
    • Assist with IT/Accounting Initiatives.
    • Support non-financial managers with financial calculations.
    • Represent the Finance Department as a team member on company projects.
  • Year End Audit
    • Assist with coordinating and managing documentation requests.
    • Facilitate the collection and production of information within necessary departments.
    • Assist with auditor interaction and issue resolution.
  • Other
    • Assist in supporting and maintaining G/L structure.
    • Assist with identifying and maintaining the structure of internal controls.
    • Actively seek improvement opportunities within the Finance Department.
    • Assist with state and other governmental reporting requirements.
    • Assist with implementing accounting changes to comply with new pronouncements.
    • Support non-financial managers with financial calculations.
    • Other Accounting / Finance duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications

 

  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance

 

Education/Certification

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required.

 

 

Skills & Competencies

 

Required:

  • Midlevel to Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (V-Lookups, Pivot-Tables, etc.)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations when they arise.
  • Adhere to deadlines on a consistent basis.
  • Pays close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Present a positive, professional image to others (internal and external, as applicable) and retain composure under occasionally stressful conditions.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality relating to corporate financial affairs.
  • Experience utilizing accounting and reporting software.

 

Preferred: Experience utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365
