East Penn is seeking a Data Acquisition Engineer who will be responsible for support of the Operational Technology (O.T.) data collection systems throughout East Penn to provide users with manufacturing data in a format that can be utilized to drive business decisions and improve performance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and supports purchased SCADA/MES systems
  • Works closely with external contractors on the development and implementation of new systems and features
  • Collaborates with end users to gather requirements, investigate issues and concerns, identify areas for improvement, and facilitate requests for changes, additions, etc.
  • Works directly with process control engineers to support new equipment within the OT data acquisition environment
  • Works directly with IT Dept. to identify security level access, firewall permission needs, and data communication issues related to developing and maintaining OT systems
  • Creates and institutes testing plans to verify correct operation of developed applications
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with existing systems
  • Provides 24/7 support of existing systems (as required)
  • Creates and maintains accurate technical system documentation
  • Develops and follows standardized methods to support systems, from inception through on-going use, which includes testing, troubleshooting, and installing application patches and upgrades

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications

 

  • Experience in an industrial environment, which could include internship experience in a related field
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems and their integration
  • Experience with SCADA software such as Wonderware, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens Simatic, or a similar application
  • Understanding of process trending, process events, and live data within a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Experience specifically with Wonderware In-Touch, Historian Client, and Galaxy and IDE development within System Platform is a plus

 

 

Education/Certification

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field of study is preferred
  • Candidates with an equivalent level of education, training, and experience may be considered
